We encourage students interested in HCI to apply to the University of Waterloo’s graduate program. HCI is an interdisciplinary field, and we welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Tips for Applying

The CS graduate application form includes a page on which you specify your research interests. Currently, this form lists “graphics and user interfaces” as a single item, making it difficult to identify students specifically interested in HCI research. Until this can be changed, your application will find us more quickly if you write in “HCI” as your area of interest.

Applications should be submitted via the University of Waterloo’s standard application process. General information for prospective students can be found here, while graduate-specific information is available from this page.
